Famous beauties such as Nefertiti and Cleopatra used Henna to enhance their hair coloring. Cleopatra also used Henna to color her lips and nails. Henna is an alternative to chemical tints which many believe are not healthy and are proving to be hazardous. The shade of Henna is reflected through your hair while enhancing your hair's natural color. It is also a conditioner.
Your cuticle is smoothed by the sealing action of Henna. This gives your hair a polished look. The hair is protected from the sun and air pollution. Regular use textures and adds shine. It may be applied every 4 to 6 weeks. Because the color blends so naturally and fades gradually, there is never a noticeable regrowth area.
Neutral Henna has all the conditioning benefits of henna without changing your hair color. Henna can be also be used on beards (yes, you guys are some of my most faithful customers!). Many folks like to mix two colors of henna to make something unique and original! Please remember- this is not a chemical and can not lighten hair. 100% Botanical with NO PPD (Paraphenylenediamine), No Ammonia, No Pesticides!

This chart shows the results of using Henna Colors on your Natural Hair Color.
Hair products are for men and women. Special notice: Henna is also reported to increase hair growth and decrease hair loss. It also helps dandruff and kills lice.
Research shows that long term use of chemical hair dyes are linked to cancer. If you use colors permanently, you are twice as likely to get cancer (specifically bladder cancer). The Cancer Research Society recommends you stop using chemical hair dye until more research is done.

Published in the International Journal of Cancer:
Women who used permanent self-administered hair dye at least once a month for a year or longer were twice as likely as women who did not use permanent hair dye to develop bladder cancer.
Those women who used permanent dye monthly for 15 years or more were more than three times as likely to develop bladder cancer as non-dye users.
Hairstylists and barbers with just one year or more occupational exposure to permanent hair dyes were 50% more likely to have bladder cancer than those who did not. This increased to five times 500% more with 10 years of professional exposure.

If you are looking for some wild colors, but are trying to avoid the chemical trap, try adding Kool Aid to your henna. Teenagers have known the dying properties of Kool Aid, but it is a short lived color. If you mix the Kool Aid with henna, the color will last for weeks instead of days. Some examples: mix blue powder with neutral henna, mix orange powder with copper henna, mix lemonade powder with blonde henna, mix red powder with red henna (WOW) etc...
Simple directions: mix a 4 ounce container of henna and 1 packet of Kool-Aid type drink mix (no sugar) in a non-metal bowl. Pour in 1 1/4 cup of boiling water. Mix with a plastic or wooden spoon. When cool enough, apply to your hair for the recommended amount of time per henna instructions.
Click orange box for directions and tips. Including coloring gray hair.
Our henna is 100% organic. Ingredients: HENNA! There are no added chemicals, no peroxide, no salts, no amonia, no metallics, no pesticides and no PPD!
If you have used a chemical hair dye and been treated to chemical burns or brittle hair, henna may be your answer to a safer, healthier way to dye your hair.
If you have never used chemicals on your hair, but want to strenghten your hair, tint your hair, or cover grays, henna may be your answer.
Our blonde shades of henna contain organic chamomile or marigold petals and darker shades contain indigo . No matter what brand of henna you use, make sure your henna is safe!
A single 4 oz size is for 1 application, if you have very long hair you may need 2 containers. There is also a 34 oz size perfect for regular henna users and hair salons (call for salon pricing). The 34 oz size is packaged in a large ziplock bag. Complete easy-to-follow directions are also included with each purchase. If you are a first-time user, please start with the 4 oz size, we will not give a money back guarantee if you buy a 34 oz size before trying the smaller size first.

Hi Cynthia,
I want to thank you for such a wonderful product and for saving me the next many years of putting horrible smelly, burning chemicals on my head! THANK YOU!
:)))))))))))

Cynthia,
I LOVE MY HAIR!
I mixed 1 1/3 cups Mahogany and 3/4 cup Persian Red and it turned out AMAZING! There are so many facets of color that I can't believe it. In some light it is a rich delicious brown, outside and in bright light it is a dazzling amber brown. I'm your new best customer :)
The other day it took me a very long time to polish the mirror. I couldn't take my eyes off the shine on my hair!
It's like I'm seeing my brown hair, but it now has a lovely auburn glow. And the formerly white hairs on my head are natural-looking highlights. I like that!
Thanks so much for providing a healthy alternative for hair color. I am more than satisfied - I'm elated!

Cynthia,
Thanks for a great product. I feel good about using the henna, knowing it's good for my hair and makes it prettier too. Even better is being able to color it without spending a fortune at a salon, and dealing with reactions to smelly chemicals. I got just the result I wanted, to get back the original red color of my hair without being drastic. After the first few days, when the color darkened, I don't think anyone even realized it's not my natural color. I'm reordering again today!
I have suffered with very bad migraine headaches for such a long time. One day, I noticed after I had my hair dyed professionally, I would always have a very bad episode. I did some research and was shocked. I knew immediately, I needed to find a better solution to covering my grey hair. I started using the Henna hair dyes (sorry, first found them at a local health food store). Wow! I was so impressed. The henna helped my hair grow, and look fabulous... NO MORE MIGRAINES! Chemicals seem to trigger me. All natural now for me.. Today, I've ordered the soap, shampoo and conditioner. I'm sure it will be wonderful. Thanks! I will let you know how my Chemical free world proceeds. P/S I've tried a couple different Henna hair dyes, but found your brand to be the best.

IN A RECENT ARTICLE FROM NATURALNEWS.COM :
There is a long list of ingredients used in the hair coloring industry, each problematic in more than one way. In the one product involved in the lawsuit above, these chemicals were involved, listed here with the associated hazards of each:
Hydrogen peroxide: skin burns; dermatitis; potential gastrointestinal or liver toxicity hazards; eye burns with redness, tearing, inflammation and potential corneal injury and blindness; digestive tract damage; organ toxicity hazards; lung corrosion; neural toxicity hazards; respiratory toxicity hazards;
Sodium Stannate: Skin irritation with redness and pain; eye irritation;
Tetra-sodium pyrophosphate: Skin irritation; redness and pain to eyes;
Isopropyl alcohol: Skin irritation;
Resorcinol: skin irritation and redness, itching, dermatitis, edema or corrosion of affected area; loss of superficial skin layers; potential gastrointestinal or liver toxicity hazards; endocrine disruptor; neurotoxicity hazards;
Hexylene glycol: Skin irritation; lung irritant; eye irritant;
Pentasodium pentetate: Eye irritant;
Propylene glycol: Sense organ toxicity hazards; dangerous for those with
kidney disorders; may cause transitory stinging and tearing; penetration enhancer so it helps other chemicals penetrate the skin;
P-aminophenol: can cause immune system response resulting in lung sensitization;
Alcohol denat: may cause eye irritation; potential to reduce fertility or affect a healthy full-term pregnancy;
EDTA: eye irritant; neurotoxicity hazards;
Coal tar dyes -- M-aminophenol, Phenyl methyl pyrazolone, and 2, 4-diaminophenoxyethanol CCL: Linked to bladder cancer; potential neurotoxicity and respiratory toxicity hazards; potential to reduce fertility or affect a healthy full-term pregnancy;
Ammonium hydroxide: Respiratory toxicity hazards;
P-Phenylenediamine (PPD): Coal tar dye with links to bladder cancer, recognized as the most hazardous chemical used in hair dyes; can be absorbed through the skin and causes chemical leukoderma; potential gastrointestinal or liver toxicity hazards; mutagenic; can cause redness, pain and swelling of the eyelids, blurred vision and blindness; sense organ toxicity hazards; can form carcinogenic nitrosamine compounds if mixed with amines; potential kidney and respiratory toxicity hazards; potential to cause immune system response resulting in lung sensitization and other damage to immune system; can cause asthma attacks; poses neurotoxicity hazards; pharynx and larynx irritation; and anaphylactic shock which can be fatal.
The most common allergic reactions to PPD are dermatitis of the eyes, ears, scalp and face, which may include a rash, extreme swelling and a severe burning sensation on the scalp. Other names and related compounds include: PPDA; Phenylenediamine base; p-Phenylenediamine; 4-Phenylenediamine; 1,4-Phenylenediamine; 4-Benzenediamine; 1,4-Benzenediamine; para-Diaminobenzene (p-Diaminobenzene); para-Aminoaniline (p-Aminoaniline); Orsin; Rodol; or Ursol; Para-Touline Diamine; and Touline Diamine-Sulfate.
The biggest danger with PPD involves the occurrence of cross-sensitization, wherein a person is not only sensitive to PPD, but one or more related substances. These are present in most textile dyes, pen ink, black rubber, gasoline, oil, food colors, medication dyes, preservatives (parabens) and some drugs (all caine drugs such as Benzocaine and Novocain), Sulfonamides, sulfones, sulfa drugs, Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) used in sunscreen, and fragrances.
Even semi-permanent hair rinses , which don`t contain PPD, might include anthraquinone dyes or nitrophenylediamines. Though these rarely cause primary sensitization, they may cause a reaction in people cross-sensitized to PPD and its derivatives.
